In all fairness I do live a charmed life, I am well aware of it. I am the second child and first daughter of a noble family in Galan. It is a lovely city, and I have been restricted to it for much of my life. I understand this of course, the earth itself is not place for us, or so I have been told. I have no wish to have my wings plucked to stuff a mattress. I am no fool on such matters, I have been well informed, though it would be untrue to say I am not curious.
I was allowed to do as I wish for many years, given how my older brother and younger sister tended to be the family focuses. The former due to his status as the first son and the latter because she was the youngest of the family. However two years ago my brother was struck down in an accident. He was not killed but blinded instead, which is perhaps a worse fate. He can still fly with guidance but he has been devalued as a result. As such more focus has fallen unto me and my other brother.
I have found the new requirements of me dull and pointless, and I can barely pay attention during dinners of state. I like my status but it has not provided me with anything I feel is truly worthwhile. Perhaps I will have to wait and see what it does bring.
