*it was like a time bomb set into motion, ! WE KNEW THAT WE WERE DESPERATE TO EXPLODE The sun hit the tan skin of the young Ferus perfectly as she positioned herself on at the top of a small pile of rather large rocks. The rocks were at the outskirts of the town of Tharan, the home of the Ferus. The particular Ferus in question was Makenna. The light black fabric rested rather comfortably on her upper body showing off just the right amount of skin. Her long tan legs dangled over the rock, swinging happily back and forth. Makenna loved sitting on the outskirts of town. It was always rather quiet considering the sparse amount of people that traveled the road to Tharan.
On this particular day, Makenna was actually bored. A part of her wished that a passerby would walk past. At least then she would have someone to terrorize. She needed some type entertainment. She laid out on top of the rock and snapped her fingers together. A small ball of fire formed between her fingers. The ball moved from her fingers to the middle of her hand. She concentrated and the ball of fire grew bigger until it consumed the palm of her hand. "Oh where oh where should I toss this little beauty." * and if I have to pull you out of the wreckage ! , YOU KNOW I'M NEVER GONNA LET YOU GO tagged , anyone! outfit , outfit!words , 201. lyrics , time bomb by all time low. status , finished. notes , well hello there.

There was never enough chaos to cause with Hurricane. She was always stirring up trouble with Animos's guards or terrorizing the young humani. Of course, she wouldn't hurt children, but there was nothing wrong with scaring them, right?
Hurricane had found herself wandering aimlessly through the countryside simply on a whim. Many animals traveled by instinct, and though her breed of humani wasn't known for migration, her instinct had told her to move. The warmth of the volcano had drawn her nearer, like a moth to a flame. Though the volcano was highly active and hazardous, she preferred to be close to it, and to bathe her body in the heat of the acrid smoke.
However, her footfalls did not bring her to Faliae. Instead, it brought her to the outskirts of the town near it. Hurricane had never seen a Ferus in all of her days, but she had heard stories about them - unpleasant stories. How they could set a whole forest ablaze, or how they sacrificed innocents to the volcano, or even how they acted. She wasn't fond of them simply by their legacies, but honestly, she wasn't fond even of her own kind. It took quite a feat to make Hurricane not condemn you.
She was wary, now; all of her steps came cautiously and they were strategically placed. Her eyes would search the ground before she placed a step there, and the routine would continue. When her foot would make contact with the ground, her optics would shoot straight in front of her, to look for any kind of movement. Once the way was clear, they would return to the ground. To an observer, she looked quite paranoid, schizophrenic, even. However, when you lived the life of a feral humani, you learned to take in your surroundings or die. Too often had she come close to learning that lesson first-hand.
Hurricane was the typical bestial humani. Her senses were heightened to near superhuman, and she was unpredictable like an animal. Despite her animal-like behavior, she had intelligence, and that was enough to make her superior among her kin.
Being that her sense of smell was acute, she could scent a Ferus on the wind. Her jaws opened slightly to allow the odor to waft into her maw, as a cat would normally do. Once she retained the scent of the Ferus, she shook her head icily, with a mind to find it and kill it. If it was in her way, it was an obstacle; therefore, it needed to be dead.
Hurricane bolted through the outskirts now, not concerned with how much noise she made or what may have been watching her. No, there was a much more pressing matter at hand. There was a rogue Ferus that would make for a nice meal. Not that Hurricane ate humanoids. The vultures would surely enjoy the stringy meat and perhaps a more carnivorous creature would prefer the rigid tendons.
She followed the Ferus's trail until her eyes lit upon the creature sitting on the rocks. Hurricane curled back her lip at her to expose pearly whites the size of a small knife. Her stance became stoic and tense, immovable even with the strongest of currents. She had been taught how to look intimidating and strike fear into the hearts of her foes from her parents, however small she looked.
Hurricane didn't say a word to the Ferus; she merely stood like a statue save for her twitching tail which closely resembled that of a snow leopard. She usually threatened anyone in her way, but Hurricane saw the ball of fire and was quite taken aback by the blaze. Animals typically feared fire, and she was no exception, but she certainly wouldn't retreat because of it. She had gone looking for trouble, and, for Elejen's sake, she was going to have some. Whether or not she got a few burns was merely up to her opponent, but Hurricane could take it.

*it was like a time bomb set into motion, ! WE KNEW THAT WE WERE DESPERATE TO EXPLODE Makenna looked around still quite bored and unamused by the lack of company she had. How on earth was a girl supposed to get her kicks without anyone to actually kick around. She could always travel as she did during the day sometimes, but she was far from in the traveling mood at the moment. The thought of going to Revko or one of the tragically infested cities that she knew of just had no real appeal to her inner need for chaos. They all reacted so predicable to a pretty girl who happened to be a Ferus. While most days such a reaction would be plenty of entertainment to keep her going, today was different for some reason.
The heat from the active volcano Faliae soothed her quite well. Her town was built at the base of it, something that was quite appropriate considering the fact that it was the volcano itself that had given her people life. They worshiped it, thinking it to be their one connection with their gods. The volcano was much like her actually. It was quite beautiful, but also quite dangerous. It could go off at any minute leaving a path of destruction in its wake. No one would be stupid to mess with anything or anyone who had a reputation such as this would they? You'd be surprised.
Makenna suddenly heard a bit of noise traveling toward her. She sat up quickly expecting an attack. Maybe it was just one of her people coming out there to see who they could find and disturb. She highly doubted this though. With the speed and amount of noise this creature was making, not to mention the direction from which it was coming, there was no way that it could be another Ferus. She decided to lay back onto the rock. Whatever it was obviously wanted to catch her off guard, so she would let them believe that they had. She continued to toss the ball of fire in the air, causing it to grow a little bigger with every leap.
Finally, the noise came to a stop. Whoever had been making the noise had reached their destination which was not too far from where Makenna herself was. After a few moments, it was clear that the creature was waiting for something. Makenna looked off to the side to see what had been stalking her. To her surprise a Humani sat before her. She immediately recognized what the creature was, though she had never seen this particular one before. Come to think of it, she hadn't really met many Humani, just a few really. It was to be expected when you had lived as long as she had.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here? A Humani in Ferus territory. It looks like the gods have sent me something to play with after all. Wasn't that nice of them," Makenna said sitting up. She stood on the rock she had been previously laying on. The stance which the Humani was taking was obviously an attack stance. So the girl had come looking for a fight had she? This should be quite interesting. She allowed the flame in the palm of her hand to engulf her hand completely. The flames licked at her hand rather affectionately.
"Kitty wanna play?" Makenna asked mockingly. "I won't blame you if you decide to back down. A sick and twisted smile crossed Makenna's lips. She really had no intention of killing the girl. She much rather torture her a bit. Of course, if the girl happened to die in the process, well she would just be another casualty in Makenna's never ending sick game. * and if I have to pull you out of the wreckage ! , YOU KNOW I'M NEVER GONNA LET YOU GO tagged , hurricane! outfit , outfit!words , 620. lyrics , time bomb by all time low. status , finished. notes , wanna play a game.

Hurricane was already frustrated enough with this Ferus standing in her way. It didn't help that she was also egging her on by mocking her. The Ferus obviously knew nothing about Humani. They would strike when you least expected it and leave you without a few limbs in the process. At the moment, Hurricane was able to control her rage, but seemingly not for long. She was only so human and it wouldn't take very long for her fury to brim over the edge.
The Humani still stood completely rigid, save for her tail. Makenna's words went into Hurricane's ears and rattled about inside until they finally made their way out. What she said did not make Hurricane any less angry. In fact, had she been an animal, by then, she probably would have torn Makenna apart with little conscience or remorse.
"I'm not a 'kitty,' you'll find. By that, I mean, you won't find me very enjoyable," spat Hurricane venomously, "especially when I'm eating you alive." With that, she gave Makenna another snarl, peeling back her lips slowly so that saliva twisted around her fangs and dripped onto the ground. Her lips once again enveloped her teeth, but not without a low rumble from deep in Hurricane's throat.
She slowly - in a pained manner - sidestepped and stooped over slightly, as if she were sensing exactly where to attack. Her ears piqued then flattened then piqued again then flattened once more. She was hearing the crackling of the whipping flame in Makenna's hand, and the other inhabitants of the forest. However, it was just a ploy to make it seem like Hurricane was concentrated on other things. When, in fact, she was scouting for the best place to strike at Makenna. Would it be better to lunge at her from the side? Or perhaps straight on? It would be difficult to get her from the rear, as she would have to be stunningly quick to do so.
Hurricane's nostrils flared and her claws clenched and then unclenched. She was looking for the perfect time to get at this Ferus. Unfortunately, she was startled by the sudden flights of birds not far above her head. She crouched down, throwing her head to the sky and watching the birds scatter in all directions. Her eyes searched the sky, looking on until every single bird was out of sight and out of mind. When her gaze finally returned to Makenna, Hurricane had lost valuable time and composure. She was not in a position to strike now. She had lost her footing and bracing. Now she was at a loss for something to cover her.
The best she could do was continue to stay low to the ground with her hands grasping the earth. If she had to move, she could move swiftly and hopefully evade whatever came her way. Hurricane let forth a caveat of sorts to Makenna by extending a prickling hiss her way. Her white ears pivoted backwards to show displeasure in being under such pressure. It was a rule in nature that the more intimidating you looked, the less people would mess with you. Hurricane knew the rules well, but most of her opponents didn't, as they usually weren't animals or Humani. They were all like the humans: kill first, ask questions later. Being descendents of the humans disgusted Hurricane. They were even less civilized than the Humani. And less civilized than the humans were the Ferus. The ritualistic, heartless beasts.

*it was like a time bomb set into motion, ! WE KNEW THAT WE WERE DESPERATE TO EXPLODE It probably wasn't very wise for Makenna to mock the Humani in front of her. In fact, Makenna knew this for a fact. She may not have encountered many Humani, but she had encountered many in her century and a half of being on this earth. She new the risks that she was taking. Humani, especially ones that didn't have many human qualities, possibly like the one in front of her now, acted purely on instinct instead of intelligence or human reason. Or at least as much reason as a human could have. Makenna rarely gave any type of credit for intelligence when it came to humans and their Humani counterparts for that matter.
The fact of the matter was, however, that Makenna rarely did what she was supposed to do, especially in situations such as these. It wasn't in her nature to back down from a challenge. That's exactly what this Humani was doing. It was challenging her and on her own territory no less. She didn't know how stable the creature in front of her was. She could attack at any moment. Makenna narrowed her eyes, quite sure that that exact thinking was going through the Humani's mind. She was plotting something, though Makenna could be quite sure what she was planning. If the Humani wanted a fight, then that is exactly what Makenna would give her. She arched one of her eyebrows at the girl's threat. "That's quite a threat. Are you sure you can back it up. Ferus are not ones to take threats lightly. You may want to choose your words more carefully Humani," she responded, venom dripping from her voice.
She watched her enemy's every move. She wasn't quite sure what she was doing, but she was sure that no good would come of it. Though Makenna may not have been an expert on Humani, she did know about animalistic qualities in general. All animals scanned their surroundings before attacking, even the Ferus herself. It was the best thing to do so as not to be caught off guard by your enemy. Being unaware of you surrounding could be deadly. For instance, Makenna knew this area very well. It was her territory after all. She knew the amount of creature and what types of creatures lived here. So when she saw the flock of birds near the Humani, she smiled to herself on the inside. It was obvious that the Humani had not noticed. A few more inches, and she would disturb them. Sure enough, the flock of birds startled the Humani.
Makenna took the opportunity to put a bit more distance between herself and the girl. In the process, she took her hand that was engulfed in flames and sent the flames shooting into the surrounding area. She created a semi-circle around herself, flames crackling as if laughing at the Humani for her ignorance. Makenna's eyes seemed to dance along with the flames in front of them. "Do you dare come and get me? she said taunting the Humani. She created a small ball of fire in her other hand and flicked it not to far from where the Humani stood. "Or shall I just burn you alive where you stand?" * and if I have to pull you out of the wreckage ! , YOU KNOW I'M NEVER GONNA LET YOU GO tagged , hurricane! outfit , outfit!words , 560. lyrics , time bomb by all time low. status , finished. notes , sorry it took me so long!
