*if you're the chosen one, ! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE LOVED BY NO ONE Revko, City of Humans. Just one of the many places that Makenna liked to visit. She didn't like to visit the city because she enjoyed the company of its occupants. No it was quite the opposite really. She somewhat despised humans. It was ingrained in her and it had been ever since she came into this world. No, rather she enjoyed visiting Revko because it was the perfect place to cause a little chaos every now and then. Most couldn't name her as a Ferus right off the bat. She looked like any other human really, if only a hell of a lot more beautiful, something obvious in the fact that very few of the men in the city could take their eyes off of her. She was hotter as well. Literally. Like currently, though there was clearly a breeze flowing through the air, it did little to calm the flame burning inside of her. She was used to it though, and thought nothing of the heat.
As she walked through the city, she noticed the guards positioned at various stores, entrances, etc. She looked around her and with little disregard for the consequences, snapped her fingers a few times, creating a very small flame. Biting her bottom lip, Makenna searched for a place to toss it. After a bit of contemplation, she extinguished the flame. There were more guards than usual around and while that meant a bigger amount of excitement, it also meant that one of them may actually figure out that she caused the fire. She rarely gave humans any intelligent credit, however, she had just gotten there and wasn't in the mood to be forced to leave.
So instead she decided to be content with walking the city streets at the moment. As she was walking, she knocked a girl down without an regard for her well being. "Open your eyes and pay attention next time," Makenna said as if it was the other girl's fault. The girl stood and scurried off causing Makenna to laugh in amusement. * if you're the number 1, where do you run to can you hide behind the sun ! , AND YOU HIDE THERE WITH YOUR DEMONS AND YOU WAIT FOR NIGHT TO COME tagged , anyone! outfit , outfit!words , 322. lyrics , dancing with the devil by wolf gang. status , finished. notes , well hello there.

At first he was nervous when he approached the human city of Revko. He was unsure how the inhabitants there would treat him, so Laerth made certain to keep a low profile as he entered.
The Dros wore a dark cloak with the hood pulled over his head, nearly disguising his most peculiar feature - his eyes. He was not fond of the sunlight, seeing that he is usually out and about during the night. Laerth's eyes were sensitive to the brightness; he hoped that his outfit of choice did not make him look suspicious to the humans occupying the streets and alleyways.
Laerth made sure to keep his back straight and his stride nonchalant. Every now and then a passerby would double-take in his direction, but Laerth payed no mind to the stares. He assumed it was his fair skin and black eyes that caused those nervous looks to flash in their eyes. It was then when he noticed a guard studying his every move.
Laerth made eye contact with the human who was gowned in armor, a hand resting on the hilt of a blade fastened to his leather belt. The Dros nodded politely, hoping to put the human's suspicions about him at ease by noting he was being scrutinized. When the guard made no move to apprehend him, Laerth turned onto another street.
"Open your eyes and pay attention next time."
Laerth was taken by surprise when a young human female bumped into him and then proceeded to hurry past before he could ask if she was alright. He turned his gaze toward the owner of the stern statement, and he saw a woman. Laerth felt the hair on the back of his neck stand, but he couldn't pinpoint why exactly this girl made him feel uneasy.

*if you're the chosen one, ! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE LOVED BY NO ONE Very few people noticed the exchange between Makenna and the human girl. One of the guards standing outside of the the nearby shops looked at Makenna. It was obvious that he had seen what had happened. He made no move towards Makenna, but he did raise an eyebrow as he looked at her with a peculiar gaze. Makenna flashed a rather seductive smile that seemed to get the young guard flustered. She giggled and gave a small wave. He was obviously not expecting it and did not know how to carry on the little exchange. Once he finally regained his composure, he gave her a nod and averted his eyes. Makenna laughed at his embarrassment. This was exactly why humans were so entertaining.
If anyone noticed either of her mini exchanges, they gave indications of it. Everyone was just carrying on with their usual business it seemed. Very few people were drawing attention to themselves as a matter of fact. Not too many people looked out of place. That wasn't much of a surprise to Makenna. Wheneve she ventured into Revko, she rarely saw anyone who wasn't a human. Maybe it was just becasue of the days that she travelled there. She was never too sure. On occasion she would see another Ferus, who she could usually spot almost immediately.
Suddenly she felt someone's eyes on her. She turned around and found a man staring at her. She looked him over from head to toe and took in his dark cloak. Hmm...rather peculiar. Who was this stranger. It was quite obvious that he wasn't from Revko. Why else would he be hiding his appearance. She looked a little closely and saw his extremely dark eyes. She took a few steps towards him, closing the gap between him. Luckily, he wasn't too far from an alleyway. She leaned against the wall, not completely disappearing into the alley , but just standing at the opening.
"Is there a reason that you're practically burning a hole into the back of my head with your eyes?" Makenna asked rather rudely. * if you're the number 1, where do you run to can you hide behind the sun ! , AND YOU HIDE THERE WITH YOUR DEMONS AND YOU WAIT FOR NIGHT TO COME tagged , laerth! outfit , outfit!words , 352. lyrics , dancing with the devil by wolf gang. status , finished. notes , nope i don't mind at all.

Laerth's feet remained rooted to the ground as he watched the stranger take a few steps toward him. Her approach made him feel even more uneasy, but he did not allow it show in his facial expression which was firm and calm. Laerth felt that the female possessed a trait he was all too familiar with. The word "fire" sparked in the back of his mind.
"You overreacted," he finally responded, raising his nose slightly to give the female a belittling look. "There was no need for you to frighten her," he added, referring to the young girl that he had bumped into only moments ago.
The Dros dared to take a step closer. He had to be sure if what he thought this female to be was true or not. She definitely was not a human. She stuck out against the others who were crowding the streets. If he wasn't mistaken, Laerth believed the air to feel slightly warmer the closer he got to this mysterious woman. His nose involuntarily scrunched up at his realization.
"Though, I suppose you lose your temper often...and easily. Your kind always do."
Laerth denied the hint of doubt that threw in the option of this female being a human. Maybe he was mistaken, but he could not deny the fact that she had a presence similar to the rogue Ferus that exterminated his parents many years ago. The memory almost made him lose focus on the situation at hand.
Snapping back into reality, Laerth reminded himself that angering a Ferus - if that is what she is - is always a foolish thing. Their rage could turn an entire forest into nothing but ash and smoke; could overpower any web he spun despite its strength. He knew from experience the intensity of the heat a Ferus in battle could create. That thought caused him to avert his gaze to the alleyway.
It would be wise to not start a scene.

*if you're the chosen one, ! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE LOVED BY NO ONE The face of the man before gave no hint of surprise at her rudeness. Most would have. Most people that she encountered who had no idea who or what she was were surprised that such an attitude could come from such an attractive girl. You know what they say, looks can be very deceiving.
"Overreacted? No need to frighten her? I did no such thing sir and I don't think I like what you're implying. And anyway if I had, she deserved every bit of whatever she got." A smirk appeared on her face. She always enjoyed playing her little role. Who was this cloaked man anyway? Oh gosh, did she really just think that? It was such a cliche thing to say.
She looked at the way he turned his nose up at her and felt the heat inside of her begin to rise. She could tell what he was doing. He was looking down on her like she was beneath him. She could literally feel her insides begin to boil. She hated that. How dare he. She closed her eyes and tried to regain control of herself. The last thing she wanted to do with suddenly begin to start glowing like a log in a fire. She tried to extinguish the flame until it was down to its usual everyday state. Once she did she knew that the fire had left her eyes as well. The last thing that she wanted to do was draw attention to herself and start setting fires. It was too early in the game for that. So as hard as it might be, she would have to control her temper to the best of her ability.
"My kind. And who exactly are my kind? Please enlighten me." Makenna was dying to hear this. She wanted to see just how smart this guy was. He obviously seemed to notice something about her that most people didn't at first site. Had she ever encountered him before? She was quite curious. * if you're the number 1, where do you run to can you hide behind the sun ! , AND YOU HIDE THERE WITH YOUR DEMONS AND YOU WAIT FOR NIGHT TO COME tagged , learth! outfit , outfit!words , 338. lyrics , dancing with the devil by wolf gang. status , finished. notes , nope i don't mind at all.

Laerth dismissed the woman's attitude at his first statement. There was no convincing her that the younger female was the victim, not her. He let his colorless eyes drift toward the fiery woman again as he listened to her demand. There is that attitude again. If he didn't feel so frustrated with her, he would laugh at her behavior.
Drawing in a breath, Laerth hoped he was not incorrect about this woman's species, though he doubted his belief was an error. "You are warm," he mumbled, gesturing toward her body. "You have an unattractive personality." He spat out that next part. Perhaps he was being a little too rude. "So, I believe that you are a Ferus. Annoying and cruel." The Dros could not help but spew insults. He felt strongly about the Ferus and their kind, even though the Aeries were the true enemies of his people.
Laerth's conscience urged him to speak more carefully than he was. When it came to being calm and as polite as possible, he was performing poorly. He swallowed nervously, silently cursing himself for possibly damning this entire city to the mercy of a certain angry Ferus. He was being foolhardy in her presence.
"Promise me you will behave yourself this day and each day following this one," Laerth sighed. He took a step to move away from the Ferus. He thought that it would be best to leave her alone and not cause any unnecessary bickering. It could get dangerous.
He scowled as the image of his parents' flesh burning off their bones flashed in his mind. Laerth knew that it was irrational of him to feel this way at the sighting of a stranger Ferus, but he couldn't help but feel the feelings he did.
Before he could make his leave, Laerth spotted a couple of guards looking in his and the female's direction. They were talking quietly amongst each other, pointing with judging fingers.

*if you're the chosen one, ! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE LOVED BY NO ONE Makenna listened to the man as he prattled off her physical and personality traits. He was obviously smarter than he looked, though Makenna still could not completely see his face. He was good. Either that or he just had extremely keen senses and knew how to apply them. She was rather amused. It was obvious that he didn't like her because of what she was. Most species didn't. People usually disliked what they feared. The only exception to that rule tended to be the Ferus, who as far as Makenna was concerned, feared no one.
The more that Makenna looked at the man the closer she became to figuring out who or at least what he was. The way he talked, his colorless eyes, the black cloak. She was was starting to believe this man was a Dro. She couldn't help but laugh at his request. "Promise to behave myself? And here I was thinking that you were quite smart, since you guessed what I was." She watched as he took a few steps away from her as if he were going to leave. "Leaving so soon? I don't think so. We were just starting to get to know each other," she said with a sly mockingly innocent smile.
She followed his eyes and noticed two of the guards paying rather close attention to them. It seems their little exchange was beginning to draw attention to themselves. It was a little early in her trip to start a commotion, but then again, why not have a bit of fun. She turned back to the stranger and said, "You can't run off. We're just gaining a small audience. You haven't even gotten your prize yet for guessing my correct race. Of course then again, you know so much about me and I seem to know hardly anything about you." She snapped her fingers, dipping a bit more into the shadows in order to shield the view of the guards watching them. A small flame appeared between her fingers. "So why don't you stop being such a stranger and indulge me." * if you're the number 1, where do you run to can you hide behind the sun ! , AND YOU HIDE THERE WITH YOUR DEMONS AND YOU WAIT FOR NIGHT TO COME tagged , laerth! outfit , outfit!words , 357. lyrics , dancing with the devil by wolf gang. status , finished. notes , nope i don't mind at all.

When the woman snapped her fingers to summon a flame, Laerth found himself unable to take his gaze from the glowing spectacle. His fingers curled into and out of his palm as he recalled how such fire destroyed his webs. Now ignoring the guards, the Dros stepped into the alleyway, mesmerized by the fire glowing along the female's fingers.
The stone walls of the buildings that were on either side of the pair blocked out the sun, making the narrow passage cool and shadowed. It was easier on Laerth's eyes, so he raised one hand to pull back his hood. He never let his eyes leave the flame - not for a second.
"What do you want to know?" he questioned, unhooking the brooch of his cloak. He slid the thick fabric over his shoulder and started to fold it neatly. His black eyes were finally able to break away from the fire the Ferus created.
Laerth tried to push away his memories of the last encounter he had with a Ferus. Because of that man the Dros could no longer look differently at any of the volcanic children. Even if they had nothing to do with the murder of his parents, Laerth still classified them as merciless and unstable.
He suddenly reached out and gripped the woman's wrist, trying to push her arm down. "Put that out. You do not want anyone to notice." He didn't mean it, but his grip was somewhat tight. Laerth took a moment to compare his skin to hers, and he understood why he got so many odd looks. His flesh was nearly ghostly.
Laerth hoped that he and this Ferus could at least try to get along. Keeping a low profile and keeping this girl steady were the most important things right now. If he made the wrong move he could end up engulfed in fire.

*if you're the chosen one, ! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE LOVED BY NO ONE Makenna watched as the man became entranced by her flame. She had never seen someone so involved in it. It was as if he couldn't look away, not because of fear necessarily, but because of something else. It was as if he were seeing an old friend, or rather an old enemy. She watched him for quite awhile. When he pushed back his hood to reveal his eyes and then removed the cloak all together, she took in his entire appearance. He was quite attractive actually. For what he was anyway. "Well, you've just answered my first question," she said leaning against the dark and cold alley wall, the the cold feeling didn't register to her. Her naturally high body heat took care of that for her. "It has been quite a long time since I have encountered a Dros. Quite a long time indeed." She tilted her head to the side in an intrigued manner.
Her mind drifted towards thoughts of the guards who had been watching them. No doubt, the were wondering where the two had disappeared to and what they were plotting. Maybe they thought that Makenna and the man were working together. "My second question is what is your name." If she was going to be accused of working with him, she would like to no what her supposed accomplice's name was. Or the name of her next potential victim if things went poorly. Of course if the guards had noticed their disappearance and thought they were up to know good, it would also mean that the other guards in the city would no be on high alert. Well, I guess I am in for a bit of fun.
Before Makenna could say anything else, the Dros grabbed her wrist. Who the hell did he think he was. How dare he put his hands on her in such a forceful way. "I suggest you take your hands off of me right now," she said between gritted teeth. Suddenly her entire hand and wrist went up in flames. "Someone could get hurt playing rough like that." * if you're the number 1, where do you run to can you hide behind the sun ! , AND YOU HIDE THERE WITH YOUR DEMONS AND YOU WAIT FOR NIGHT TO COME tagged , laerth! outfit , outfit!words , 353. lyrics , dancing with the devil by wolf gang. status , finished. notes , nope i don't mind at all.

"My name?"
Before Laerth could give the Ferus the information she wanted, he realized the mistake he had made. She had ignited her hand and wrist; it caught Laerth by surprise, and he pulled away as swiftly as possible. He hissed in pain, eyes darting to his hand and then back to the female. As much as he wanted to inspect his wounded palm and fingers, the Dros did not dare to remove his eyes from the woman. He could come up with a thousand obscenities to curse at the wench, but Laerth - much to his displeasure - decided against it.
"Why did you do that?" he spat, holding his burnt hand close to his chest. "Control yourself!" Hopefully no attention was drawn to this particular alley, but Laerth was afraid that the two guards from earlier were possibly still keeping an eye on the two strangers to the city.
His flesh tingled with pain and was extremely sensitive to the touch. Laerth recalled how the flesh melted off of his parent’s bones, and he felt his heart pace increase. With a disgruntled growl, he turned away from the Ferus. He wanted to get away from her before he did something else that was unintentionally foolish. “This is why I despise your kind.”
Using his undamaged hand, Laerth shook his cloak until it unfolded itself. He dropped the hood over his head and started for the enterance of the alley. There had to be a source of water nearby to cool his hand, and hopefully he could mend it himself later. Although Laerth had been in the presence of Ferus fire before, he had never been burned by it. He did not fear it, but he did hate the way it destroyed everything in its path.
“Goodbye, Ferus!” he snapped, looking back over his shoulder to the woman one last time, a scowl plastered to his face. He hoped she wouldn’t do anything further to annoy him. He was infuriated enough as it was.

*if you're the chosen one, ! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE LOVED BY NO ONE Makenna watched as the he snatched his hand away from the flames that had attached themselves to her wrist. It was obvious that he was in pain. Good. Maybe next time he would think twice before he put his hands on her again. She had accomplished her mission. She narrowed her eyes into slits at his retort. "I'm not the one who needs self control. Maybe you need to learn how to control yourself and not place your hands on an innocent young women. Let your burn be a warning to you." She leaned towards him as she spat the words out nastily. "You can't possibly expect me to just let you sit there and handle me any type of way can you?" If anyone was going to be inflicting pain, it would be Makenna.
She took no offense to his comment about despising her and other Ferus. It was not an abnormal reaction or behavior. There were very few who liked the Ferus. Most of them were actually Ferus themselves. It was to be expected. The Ferus left destruction in their wake everywhere they went without any kind of remorse or pity for anyone. They were a destructive people. May the gods be with those who crossed the Ferus. The only known weakness that the Ferus had was water, the natural enemy of fire itself.
Though it was obvious that he was trying to get away, Makenna would not let that happen so easily. As the man slipped from the alleyway, Makenna followed him, a cruel smile playing upon her face. "Leaving? And here I thought were becoming such good friends and having so much fun." She felt the sudden urge to ignite another fire, however, she resisted for the moment. She was sure another opportunity would present itself, whether it be harming the Dros, a human, or a building. * if you're the number 1, where do you run to can you hide behind the sun ! , AND YOU HIDE THERE WITH YOUR DEMONS AND YOU WAIT FOR NIGHT TO COME tagged , laerth! outfit , outfit!words , 313. lyrics , dancing with the devil by wolf gang. status , finished. notes , nope i don't mind at all.

The Dros spun on his heel to face the Ferus, annoyed that she had begun to follow him out of the alley. "Use your ears. I said goodbye." Although dissatisfaction was spun into his tone, Laerth's expression softened. "I did not mean to hurt you," he sighed, nodding toward her wrist. He held his burnt hand firmly to his side, angry with himself for attempting to apologize to this woman. "It is just too risky in this place. If I am not mistaken, humans do not take kindly to the Ferus, and I do not know how they feel about Dros." Laerth raised his injured hand, palm outstretched toward the Ferus. "They fear this - the fire you create. They will try to kill you if they find out what you are." He figured that she already knew everything he was saying, but it was still his feeble hinting at trying to make some sort of peace with the cheeky Ferus woman.
Laerth adjusted his cloak to fit more comfortably around his shoulders. It wasn't too difficult to perform such and act with only one hand, but he was still irritated at the fact that it would take a while for his burnt flesh to heal; it still hurt.
"I treat you the way I do for good reason," he added, starting to feel like he was just babbling nonsense now. "So, if you can, excuse my tongue."
Overall, Laerth is a kindhearted man. He tries his best to get along with everyone, even if they are his enemy. He'd rather not cause any trouble with anyone. If anything, he preferred making friends. The fighting between the races and the racism each felt for one another was just plain silly in his opinion. Where was the love and peace in this world?
"I wish to treat you as an equal, but only if you can tame that attitude of yours." Laerth understood that would probably be an impossible feat for the female Ferus, for it was probably just in her nature to act in such a way. "My name is Laerth."

*if you're the chosen one, ! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE LOVED BY NO ONE Makenna realized she had obviously struck quite a nerve with this one. She looked at him curiously. It was actually rather entertaining, his rudeness. Even more entertaining was his apology. Most apologies that Makenna received were very forced. They usually came in the from of the person in-between begging for their lives and asking for mercy. While being tortured or right before getting killed, her victims would apologize for whatever misdeed they had done they had offended her and caused her vendetta. Most days though, there was no one specific thing. It was just in Makenna's extremely cruel nature. She felt a twinge of respect for the Dros in front of her.
That bit of respect died a little when he voiced his concerns for the humans reactions to them. She could not help but to roll her eyes. "Life is worth nothing without a little risk Dros. I fear nothing, especially not these humans. They are weak. I do not care of their feelings toward me. They have hunted my kind for over a century, for as long as I have been on this earth. I have lived a long time Dros. I have fought for my people. My flame has yet to be extinguished. If the humans decide to hunt me, it will be them who suffers, not I." The humans were nothing more than play things for her. Something to entertain her. Something for her to play with and then toss to their side. They had caused great loss and burden to her people and she was determined to do the same for as long as she lived.
Laerth. He had given her his name. She cocked her head to the side and narrowed her eyes. Should she offer him the same courtesy? She saw no harm in it. After all, what was there to be afraid of? "I am Makenna. Trust me, my attitude is one of my better qualities. Laerth wanted to discover some form of common ground that he and this Ferus woman could possibly achieve together. He hoped that by giving her his name she would take more kindly to him and dismiss his rash behavior. The pain that still lingered in his burnt palm urged him to feel vengeful, but the Dros decided to let that irrational feeling dissipate. In all honesty, he was not too upset about it anymore. He admitted that he had made a mistake by making physical contact with the female.
“Makenna. So that is your name.” Laerth flashed his new acquaintance a sincere smile. “Do not think of each human in the same way. There are those who are innocent and who harbor no hate for the Ferus. I can understand why you despise them, but you must not bring harm to those who have never brought harm to you.” He doubted that he would be able to get through to Makenna, but he thought it wouldn’t hurt to share his opinion about her feelings. “Some humans do not know any better. They were raised on the ideas that all Ferus are evil. I was raised in the same fashion – only I was taught to hate the winged Aeries.”
He hadn’t realized how much he had actually said. Laerth pressed his lips hard together, not meaning to babble on. Who was he to lecture this woman? The Dros was not sure if Makenna would even consider his words. She seemed to feel very strongly about her ideals and beliefs, and in a way Laerth respected that. He just understood how such things could get out of control.
Laerth turned away from Makenna, deciding to continue down the crowded street. He left it up to the Ferus to decide if she would follow him or not, but he personally wanted to depart Revko as soon as possible. Those guards could be thinking about apprehending himself and Mekenna. That would not turn into a lovely situation at all. Laerth wanted to avoid such drama.

*if you're the chosen one, ! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE LOVED BY NO ONE Makenna nodded. "Yes. That is my name. Consider yourself special Laerth. I rarely give my name to others. Especially upon meeting them for the first time." She listened to his warning. Though she should probably take heed, she did not. She was aware that all humans were not the same. She realized that the humans in front of her were most likely not the people who had tried to extinguish her people's flame, but rather their ancestors. Did that mean that she would give them reprieve? Not at all. If these humans were meant to pay for their ancestor's ignorance than may the god Desino be with them in death. Many of the humans in front of her shared the same hatred for her people that their ancestors did It was their own ancestors fault for condemning them. Humans were her enemies, though some of the males in the species did serve their... extracurricular purpose at times.
"The ignorance of the humans ancestors has condemned the current humans to death. Someone must pay for their mistakes. I am sure your people would say the same of the Aeries." She too had a certain dislike of the winged people. They thought they were better than everyone else, or so she had been taught as a young Ferus in her village. Though her hatred for them was not as strong as it was for the humans, the Aeries did serve as an annoyance to her. Of course, most did for Makenna. She noticed that Laerth was turning to leave yet again. Though Makenna probably should have turned to opposite way, she found herself still a bit intrigued by the Dros. So instead, she took it upon herself to follow him. Whether he wanted her to or not was not of her concern. "I must apologize for your hand," she said, surprising even herself. She could not remember the last time that had apologized for anything. This was very strange, however, it was too late for her to take her words back.
